To fix lag try this

if on 512kbs or 600k (im on 750k but...)

try typing this in the console

rate 25000
cl_cmdrate 101
cl_updaterate 101

check if you have kazaa running and disable uploads because most downloads don't lag too much

or try this

rate 20000
cl_cmdrate 80
cl_updaterate 80

for fps lag try fps_max 101 and if you dont automatically get that check your graphics card settings and refer back to these forums with a screenshot in this topic and also try typing developer 1 to get higher fps boost

can make sticky if you like admins

good advice. however many servers now force certain rates including FPS to stop 'lag cheaters' who set their upload rate low so the server shows them where they were, not where they are. also cmdrate is often forced so people dont hog the bandwidth to download information and the same with FPS to make it a fairer game.

but it doesnt harm setting to those rates Smile

as you said, the most imporant factor of lag is often clientside graphics. make sure you have a reasonable resolutiion (too large = lag, too small = poor quality), the right graphics mode and most importantly the latest update for your gfx card.

the rate is the knife lenght if you mess with it you can get banned from some VAC servers

it was just today hasent done it b4 today
it kept goin cl_flushentitypacket and lagin
off way bad for about 10 seconds every
5 minits y today? lol
