Hey guys, as most of ya know im in mauritius now, an ive got CS an everythin up, and ive got normal BB connection (524.2Kbps to be exact)but when i play i have a ping of like 300... Anyone know what might be up? |

hmmm it is a UK based server so data may be gettin lost along the line. but americans and some australlians have been playing without too much of a problem. maybe tweak ya rates  set a lower rate and u'll lag less or change cl_updaterate to say 50.
also make sure you have the latest graphic's card drivers - go to www.nvidia.com (if you have a GeForce) and click download drivers.
have a tweak and see...  |

U also should set the Screen Resolution down to minimal, just incase! U never know...the graphic goes poorer, but u might get ur lagg away! |

Well, most likely packet loss. That is that (as the server sends packages of data to make the game run online) some of these packets are ''lost'' on the way, just as emit said. Also, try using Software instead of Direct3D or OpenGL. Options>>> Video>>> Modes>>> It looks like hell but... appearantly (since u raised rates) that is not the problem, but if it lags more lower them again, however this will cause less lag but you might lag on other peoples screens and you will have harder hitting them. To illustrate try connecting to a japanese server when you get back.
