Just tried connecting to a counter-strike 1.6 server, get to verifying resouces and then steam exists and crashes back to desktop. Anyone had this issue before? Can't find any solution to it via google |

What map was loading up? Somebody asked for help a while ago on BPG forums and it turned out one of their map files had become randomly fucked up, so just couldn't play that and steam crashed like you described. So I suggest try connecting to some servers with a few different maps running. Also worth a try seeing how far you get setting up a 'local server', nd then connecting to it ofc.
Ofcourse the trusty 'logout of steam, close steam, open steam, login to steam', still solves an annoying number of problems, worth a try if you haven't already. |

I tried closing and connecting again. Yeah, it was a custom map (aim_ak-colt) which always used to play fine but not anymore. I assume it must be to do with my computer because i tried several servers. So i guess the map is corrupt other, official maps, still work good. bit weird! |
